Ever since I was little, I was obsessed with birds, and now keep Bobwhite Quail. I am also, to my knowledge, the first person to train a Bobwhite to fulfill verbal commands. Looking forward to gaining more knowledge, and birds, in the future!
Answers to standard questions:
1 - I got my first birds July 30th, 2019, in the form of 100 day-old chicks to be raised as a biological prevention for ticks.
2 - I currently have 9 of those original birds, plus 4 of their chicks. Currently, two are trained for verbal commands.
3 - My flock is entirely Bobwhites, but I'm looking to keeping Mountain Quail, Pheasants, and Silkies in the future.
4 - I love their personalities and our interactions.
5 - I collect feathers and Lego sets
6 - I also keep some reptiles, Mantises, and a 20-year-old tabby cat named Chester. I'm studying to be a zoologist and paleontologist.
7 - I found BYC while researching various animals around a year and a half ago.
