We started raising chicks about 3 months ago. I am leaning so much from this forum. I saw an article on foods that are "treats" for chickens and decided to try hand feeding them tonight. We usually only have one that will come close to us. She is so friendly that she will sit in my DH's lap or on his shoulder. Tonight, when I went out with the raisins, I got about half interested and a few that would eat out of my hand. I then tried the sunflower seeds. Oh boy, they loved those. I had all 14 swarming around me with several grabbing the seeds out of my hand. I would have sat out their longer, but the mosquitoes ate me alive.
