Can anyone tell me what is the difference between a F1 and F2 Easter Egger? Also has anyone bred an Easter Egger Roo to a White Leghorn hen? I have a very beautiful black and white EE Roo that I thought would make awesome chicks with my leghorns. My Leghorns lay every day and so do my EE hens (his sisters) also lay every day so the chicks should be good at the production of eggs. What color would the eggs be?

F refers to the generation - F1 is the first generation produced by a cross between 2 parents (children), F2 the second generation (grandchildren).

An EE crossed with a leghorn would produce eggs the color of the EE parent, possibly diluted some. Since EE's can lay just about any color egg, it would be hard to predict what color his offspring would lay.
 
Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to our flock. An F1 EE rooster will carry a blue egg gene and a brown egg gene. Which of these two color genes he gives to his offspring will determine the color of the offspring's eggs. Statistically speaking there is a 50/50 chance that the offspring will lay eggs some color other than some shade of brown. This drops off considerably with an F2 EE, which may or may not have a blue egg gene (his EE parent could have given him a brown egg gene as well as his non-EE parent). Statistically speaking, the chance of an F2 EE rooster and a White Leghorn hen producing an egg some color other than some shade of brown drops to 25%.
