BIG BIG DAY!!!!!
Our first time flock had TWO first time layers today!!!! First was Amelia the Barred Rock. She layed a beautiful brown egg (TINY) at 10:30 this am without any fuss! Right in the nest box!
#2 was Lulu Louise an EE who layed a light brown egg with speckles at about 2 this afternoon. (
about the brown) But so happy for Lulu. She was nervous and clucking, rolling the plastic eggs around to get them under her, messing with the bedding. Her egg was also in the nest box!
Not bad for two girls just getting ready to turn 18 weeks on Monday! Our first eggs ever and 2 on one day!
.......... Any chance that Lulu's will change color???

The culprits: (Lulu is between the water and the food brown with gray muff, Amelia is looking at the pie tin)
