I am hoping these 4 EE's are girls. Are they?

It has been? Well some of us newbies missed that one. It would be neat if there were determining factors so you could breed for that pink egg...or aqua egg, if thats what you were after.

Here is blue berry as a baby...you just dont know what they are going to look like. EE's are so neat.

there is no correlation with leg or lobe color and egg color when it comes to EE's. The lobe can sometimes be used to tell white layers from brown layers but there are always exceptions. The green legs are just because of the mix of the parent stock genes. If you didn't breed them then you really can't tell what color they will lay until the egg pops out

So that makes the EE that much more fun. I dont think I will get an other breed of chicken. I have 4 other breeds but as they go over time i think i will just replace them with the EE's. I love them so much.
