this is going on day 2 of Lil’ Peep being egg bound... I’ve tried calcium, I’ve soaked her in a warm bath (during her bath I have found out she recently has somehow gotten a lice infestation :he ) I have lubed up her vent... what else do I do? She won’t really move at all and keeps closing her eyes...

Is she dying or just really exhausted? She wanted to be in that basket so I let her.. I just don’t know what to do and I will be beside myself if something happens to her..
*she has no feather loss, she is just wet from soaking in the warm bath**

Please someone help, any advice will be greatly appreciated

I am very sorry you are going through this. :hugsFrom what I've read on being egg bound, have you gently examined her vent with a gloved finger/lubrication? About 2 inches into her vent (just past your big knuckle), you should be able to feel the egg. I'd continue with the epsom salt bath soaks (1 cup salt per 1 gallon of water) after you have given the calcium supplement. You can also try to very gently massage her belly. Rooting for Lil' Peep!!

Can you insert a clean finger 1-2 inches into her vent to feel for an egg? Is she drinking water? Poultry NutriDrench or electrolytes would be good to give. Has she been pooping? Permethrin garden dust or spray from your feed store will kill the lice, and it needs to be applied at 7-10 day intervals, at least twice to get the eggs as they hatch.

I'm so sorry I thought this was an old thread. Can you post pictures of the vent area?
