For the fast 4 days I have woke up to dead quail. The first day there was a single quail dead. The second I had 4 dead and 1 dead on each following day. There have been deaths in 3 different cages. When I go to them in the morning they are already cold and stiff. There is no visible sign of damage to there bodys. Only s few mosquitoes still drinking on them. I have ducks that live every close to the quail. Any ideas or anything I could check would be very helpful

I have them ranging from 5 weeks to 9 months. All have been effected. I live in Florida so the lowest it gets is 75ish but it has been very rainy. The cages are quarter inch welded wire with sides and roof covered for hiding locations some are 10 inches tall some are 18. I have at least 1 sq foot per bird. Birds in 18 inch cage have clipped wings. Again all cage types have been effected. I really think it's some type of illness but I have not seen any type of symptoms. I'm on well water so the water dish mold even though I clean them daily. Any hint to symptoms I could look for would be great

Are they shaded and getting plenty of cool water in the Forida heat? Quail can be affected by coccidiosis just like other poultry. So, unless you can narrow down what is wrong with a necropsy to look at their internal organs and intestines, I would give them a 7 day treatment of amprollium (Corid) from you local feed store. Dosage is 1 1/2 ts[ of the powder or 2 tsp of the liquid per gallon of water, and treat all birds at once. It will help to keep the waterers clean, changed daily, and keep bedding clean and dry since it is passed through poop and in the soil. Hopefully, they will develop resisitance to cocci in the soil. Here is some reading about cocci: http://www.merckvetmanual.com/poultry/coccidiosis/overview-of-coccidiosis-in-poultry
