They don't allow chickens to travel, even in a carrier, cuz they are "livestock". Since when are pets livestock?!!! Dumb prejudiced people!!!!

My stepdaughter recently moved about 3 hours away, and I want to send her home with some chickens cuz she gets so bored up there.

hehehe, I got her addicted to chickens when she was here.
I am so bad! Everyone here taught me to do that, ya know.

I love being an enabler of chicken addiction!

Just gotta get a bird type cage and tell them you have a pet traveling, and that it is a Gallus gallus. It would help if the chicken is a crested breed or something with 5 toes.

Don't have anything fancy, sigh. RIR's, Leghorns and EE's. She is SO into the chickens tho, and has been pretty depressed cuz she doesn't know many people up there. The chickens just brightened her up. She even told me "they have a NEW mom now!"

Think I could get away with 3 of what I have? I have the carrier already.

Amtrak is just so much cheaper than gas for a 3 hour drive.

I believe "Tennessee Ground Parrots" was suggested to someone else trying to pass off chickens as some other legal creature.

LOL. I like silkiechicken's idea! Do it when they are fully feathered, but not too big. And just carry on the pet-bird cage! I like the idea of using the latin name also! LOL

Nope, she justs has them here and gets to spoil them when she's here. Turns out her aunt, who she lives with, doesn't want them. Says they are too much mess and hassle! HA!
