This is what I have with water for them and the chickens even drink out of it. If you mix flock just be careful with drakes, they can drag hens into the water to 'mate' and when ducks mate it's a bit of half drowning the female in water. Not saying it will happen just be aware it could happen and plan water accordingly. I'm making duck dinner out of any male pekin and keeping only females. The plus side is in winter i can flip it dump ice and fill it in the morning and afternoon. Knowing me I'll probably fill it and check it constantly. Ducks love to dip their head and my pekin out size my khaki campbell a lot. They are only a month old roughly but it's amazing how big a pekin gets. I guess that's expected with a meat duck. I have https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/harris-farms-poultry-drinker-5-qt?cm_vc=-10005 for my chickens (also the chick ones that are smaller 2 of those) and the ducks drink from those. I also have a https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/little-giant-hen-hydrator?cm_vc=-10005 that I got for free (woohoo) and they've nibbled it but not their thing fully. They LOVE to drink and squirt water out of the sides of their beaks when they sift water. They like dipping their beak and it's really important they can dip their heads to clean their sinuses out. It's extra but I have a shed with a gutter that dumps into a barrel and I use that for the rubber pan. They already get very excited when I top it off just for them to hop in and plan on upgrading for a better wading pool but that will come in spring when I expand out more so they can have an area for splashing that I try to pick for them. We shall see if they like what I pick or if they make their own extra swim hole.. lol
