this is a mallard. my mallards didn't fly away because they where in a coop for several weeks then they got it into their brain that this is their home so even if they do fly they will come back. They didn't fly unless u tried to catch them lol

I just learned not to keep chicks and ducklings together. My chicks hurt my new ducklings foot/leg pretty badly. I think after they are older it is fine, I see lots of pictures of duck geese guinea turkeys chickens peacock all running aroun together.

Sometimes it is almost impossible to tell only way to tell is if they get huge really fast then u have a Rouen if they get a little bigger slowly then most likely a mallard . But even from my little experience I think it's a mallard

I'm thinking he is a mallard to...I'm disappointed in the store people now...oh well I still love him for who he is! Also can me pekin Bailey and him in the future become a mated pair?

these where my ducklings they where with pheasants and that wasn't a good idea lol they pecked at each other and made everyone bleed. But as you can see their stripes on their eyes where about 2 and 3 stripes different on each duck I didn't know that till after they grew up lol

Awe your ducks are adorable they look just like mine! Also is there a way that I can check there sex? My grandma says she thinks Paisley is a boy and Bailey a girl but we are not 100% they are only about 4 days old
Some people sex them before they buy them I sex my ducks before I do. If you dont know how to do it properly u might hurt them. When they start getting feathers in month or so it might take few more months to even get their coloring (green head and grey body) females and males have the blue part of the wing (some females don't)
