Chapter 2

I opened my eyes. I began to work at the hole again. It has gotten bigger and bigger. I kicked and pecked for a very long time. I stopped and stared out the hole I have made in my egg. I heard other voices.

'Get me out of here!' One said, sounding like it wanted out of it's oval.

'Wee!' Another said cheerfully.

'Would you guys shut up already?!?!' Said another one angrily.

'Hello?' I said.

'He he, hi there!' The cheerful one said, 'You wanna be friends? Everyone calls me Sky, so you can call me that.'

'Um, uh, hi. Ha ha.' I said embarrassed, 'I have never talked to someone before. . .'

'Oh, well you are now!' The grouchy one said.

'Ha ha, um, yes, yes I am! I am talking with others! He he!' I said.

'Well. . .' The grouchy one said.

'Well. . . What?' I said.

'What do you want to be called?'

'Um, well, I am very clumsy.'

'Then, we will call you Clumsy'

'Oh, okay. What does everyone call you?'

'Grouchy.'

'Ooh, nice title.' I lied.

I guess I have my first friends! Grouchy, Sky. . . But I did remember hearing another voice.

'Um, Grouchy, Sky, didn't I hear another voice before?' I asked.

'Yes. Yes you did. I am Sea. But I don't quite know why they call me that. Nice to talk to you, Clumsy.' A voice answered.

'Hi Sea. That's a pretty name ya got there!'

'Thank you. I like yours too. I am sure it describes you well.' Sea commented.

'Yes it does. Alright, I better get back to work at that hole in my oval.'

'It's not an oval!' Grouchy said, acting all smart.

'Then, what is it?' I asked while being very frightened, afraid I was going to get in trouble by my new friend.

'It's called an egg.'

'Oh, okay. Egg. Egg. Egg. Egg! Ha ha, I like that word! Egg, egg, egg, egg!'

'Oh, shut up! Stop being annoying.'

'Oh, uh, ha ha, sorry. Anyways, I am going to get back to work. Talk to you all later, I guess.'

'Bye, bye!' Sky replied.

'See ya.' Answered Sea.

'Bye.' Grouchy said firmly.
