Chapter 8

'Hi, Marietta.' I said softly.

'What do you want?' She replied.

'I just thought that maybe we could work things out.'

'Fine. You dream and I don't. I think, unlike you.'

'I didn't mean like that.'

'Well, I did.'

'But. . .'

'Don't but me! I'm incharge. You have to listen to me! Or else. . .' Marietta interupted.

'Or else what?!?!' I said, standing up for myself.

'Or else... Or else...'

'Go on!' Genius yelled.

'Or else... Or else... Or else I'll, uh, peck you!'

'Wow...' Genius replied to Marietta.

'It's true! You better stop it, Genius, or I'll peck you too! I'll peck all of you!'

'I thought we were friends, smart mouth!' One said angrily to Marietta.

'I didn't mean you, Alex. I meant Maizie and Genius.'

I thought for a moment. So her name is Alex. So theres Marietta, Genius, Alex, me.... I counted everyone.

'One... Two... Three... Four...' I whispered aloud.

'Sure ya did, Smart Mouth! I'm gonna start calling you Smart Mouth! Smart Mouth! Smart Mouth!' She teased, madly.

Marietta really pecked Alex. 'Haha! I pecked you, Alex!' Marietta laughed.

Alex pecked her back. They both took turns pecking eachother. Alex was bleeding and had bald spots, as well as Marietta did.

'Ok.... I'm done with you!' Alex hopped on top of Marietta and scratched her with her long nails.

'Ouch! Hey! Stop that!' Marietta squirmed around, trying to get Alex off of her.

'Nope!' Alex laughed.

'Please, Alex!'

'Huh uh!'

'Uh huh!'

'Huh uh!'

'Mmm hmm!'

'Hmm mmm!'

'Mmm hmm!'

'Please! Alex! Marietta! Stop it! This is getting ridiculous! I am leaving the place! I have to scratch around. Now.' Genius yelled at the top of her lungs.

Marietta and Alex quieted down.

'Your still a smart mouth.' Alex muttered under her breath.

'Get me out of here!' Genius yelled.

She tried to jam out of the cage. She slipped through the bars.
