Wait, how did they come back to life? I'm confused! Did you just think that would be a little too dramatic for them to die? Well anyways, I'm addicted!
Quote:
They didn't ever die! They were different chickens that got slaughtered. Genius and Maizie were too worried about saving their friends, that they didn't even realize that they weren't the right hens.
Alright guys... The time is here. I'm sorry, but this will be the last chapter. I really enjoyed writing this book for you guys. Thanks so much for the support! I really appreciate it.
Now, I will do the honors of giving you the last chapter. I hope you enjoy it.
Chapter 24
We ran and ran. The cows stopped, laughed then trotted away. Our hearts pounded, from running so fast. We took a slow stroll around the trees and took dust bathes. We enjoyed our time. Later, we went out and saw a big road. Cars zoomed in between the yellow and white lines. We sat there, watching it, like a television show.
'I can't believe that Chunk and Otis almost took advantage of us.' Genius sighed.
'Yeah, that was a close one.' I agreed.
'Thank goodness that wasn't Mary and I getting slaughtered. But we almost did.' Alex said.
'Yeah.' Mary agreed with Alex.
A car stopped. More of a truck. A man and a young girl hopped out and opened up the back. It looked quite roomy. The girl approached us.
'Hey little girls! You look horrible! Don't worry, your going to have a good home. No more of that factory farm.' She said sweetly.
'I don't know what she said, but she seems nice. I think we should trust her.' Genius assured everyone.
'I guess your right.' We all agreed.
The girl picked Mary up and put her in the back of the truck.
'It's good!' Mary yelled to us.
Then she picked Genius up and carried her into the truck too.
'We're gonna be okay! It's not bad, back here.' Genius assured us. Finally, she picked Alex and I up at the same time and put us in the back. The man opened up a bag of pine shavings, and dumped it in the back for us. It was very comfortable. The truck started up, and the humans hopped in. It moved quickly. Way quicker than when I was in the egg. After a while, the car stopped. The girl opened the truck back, and let us jump out. There was a bunch of other hens... And even roosters! Then she put Alex and Mary in one coop, a few acres away. The man put Genius in another coop, in the opposite direction. Then finally, he put me in a coop a few feet away. And that was when I met all of you.
