I am officially insane....(Problem solved, update p. 4)

its alot like a chick i had called sparta, he thinks you are his mom. he imprinted on you. really what i used to do is i would hold him in my hand under the light and when he fell alsleep i would leave. chicks are pretty heavy sleepers the first week.
 
I had the same problem except it went on for a month. I kept thinking the chick would grow out of it - instead it got louder as it got older. I finally put a mirror in the brooder and got two cheap beanie babies (one's a bluebird and the other's a parrot). Now the chick sleeps between the two toys--so cute, and is content to be without me 24/7.

Look in the local Bulletin Board or Craig's list, you should be able to find him a tiny buddy.

Gosh, it sounds just like having a baby!

If you were nearby I would give you a chick!
