Actually, we have found him a chick buddy, I was supposed to go pick him up yesterday, but couldn't make it out there. I should be able to bring home the other chick today.

Now, they only cry if they are apart from each other. My chick is teaching the new baby that I am the treat lady and he doesn't have to be scared of me. Hopefully he will come around

** sorry about the hazy pictures, they also got a new brooder - a clear rubbermade container which isn't very clear. We also put them under a red light instead of white which gives a funny color in pictures.

Oh, they are so sweet, your b.r. is darling and a mirror would have worked for you. You are so right, they do know who you are and he bonded with you from the start. chickens are sociable and need others of their own kind so you did a great job!

Thanks for the update...you did a nice thing for your lst chickie and the little friend/playmate...is so very lucky you found him/her. They look so cute sleeping side by side...neat story.

Thanks for sharing...btw, I'm insane too - don't feel alone!

That Chick sees you as mama its just natural for it to freak when you leave. If it were mine i would go get him a friend.
