I am ready to send the geese out of here!

No. My Buff American gander is the same way. Do beware the day the goslings hatch, as his attitude may change. The day the goslings hatched was the only time I was attacked by my Buff gander. I took away the goslings and artificially brooded them for two weeks before turning them back out with their parents. No more than 15 minutes after removing the goslings the gander was back to his normal, tolerant, self. When the goslings were given back to the parents, he actually took over the majority of parenting duties yet his attitude remained pleasant.

That said, I am so glad it wasn't a kid that went into the barn the day those babies hatched, as he was quite upset and left me with large bruises over my calfs, arms, and bitemarks (complete with imprints of the serrations in his bill) all over my forearms. This happened very quickly, it wasn't as though I allowed him to pound on me, as soon as he started I immediately went to grab his head and neck to gain control so I could get an arm around his body and pin his wings to his side to stop him from flogging me.

WOW,

Im so lucky that my Sebbies are all very tolerant no matter what month it is. I can fluff the nest, pick up eggs, anything & they're always fine. I've very thankfull everytime I read or hear of a nasty goose. I always approach them as suggested by Dave Holderead.......... walk slowly & calmly. They're not all that fond of Hubby tho at times they hiss at him, but as long as he walks slowly without a rush & stops when they start to come near him... then they just turn around & walk away; never attacking them or biting him, just hissing at times. I give them daily care & attention, but not over attention. & it's always worked for me & my geese. I LOVE them all!

It was just that one day, and it was the first time I had let them sit a clutch,... perhaps it was a first time thing? Regardless, this year I am incubating and I am not planning on letting them set. I have an incubator that will handle goose eggs better than the one I used last season (it's an older sportsman so I can fit it ALL in).
