No. My Buff American gander is the same way. Do beware the day the goslings hatch, as his attitude may change. The day the goslings hatched was the only time I was attacked by my Buff gander. I took away the goslings and artificially brooded them for two weeks before turning them back out with their parents. No more than 15 minutes after removing the goslings the gander was back to his normal, tolerant, self. When the goslings were given back to the parents, he actually took over the majority of parenting duties yet his attitude remained pleasant.
That said, I am so glad it wasn't a kid that went into the barn the day those babies hatched, as he was quite upset and left me with large bruises over my calfs, arms, and bitemarks (complete with imprints of the serrations in his bill) all over my forearms. This happened very quickly, it wasn't as though I allowed him to pound on me, as soon as he started I immediately went to grab his head and neck to gain control so I could get an arm around his body and pin his wings to his side to stop him from flogging me.
