Ok... I'm ranting.... This foodsaver is driving me nuts!!!!! You have to freeze the food first? If it's blanched and the least bit wet don't be trying to seal it here, uh huh? Dry off your blanched food first, this is insane! OOOOooo don't be trying to seal any wet food!

*Walks to the back door and hurls food saver as far as she can!*

Its not as bad as it says. I often do not freeze my food first, yes with liquids it helps to do it as it says but still. And it will last longer but it all depends on what and how long it will be until I use it. I just keep an eye on the liquid level as the air is taken out and then make it seal it anywhos. Play with your items and you will come to an understanding with it and love it. I would be lost without it now lol

Okay, insiderart, go back outside and get your thingamajigger off the ground and bring it back in.

The chickens might choke on parts of it.

What's wrong with sucking the air out of a freezer bag by mouth, or pressing it out by hand? Avoiding sucking up raw chicken juice is really not that hard. So you leave 3 cc of air -- so what?

I don't get this gadget.

My mother would not buy grocery if she couldn't use her food saver. Me I was happy when mine broke. I felt the same just let me throw it out the door

LOL! This made me laugh.

Well it was a Christmas gift I didn't purchase it myself. I thought it would be great for putting up garden stuff. Turns out I have to waste twice as much plastic, first to freeze things, next to rebag it.

I will try the "make it seal before it panics" thing though!

I didn't know food had to be dry. The only time I ever use mine is for putting up garden stuff that has been blanched. It wouldn't ever vaccum out so I tossed mine in the garbage 2 weeks ago. It was wasting my time.

I thought it was broken.

Ohhh. And what's up with them jacking up the price on their bags. Plastic is all it is.

OMG! Can't live without mine. Don't stress over the dry everything. Just fold a paper towel (I use the select-a-size and use just one piece), tuck into the top of the bag and seal. Paper catches all the moisture. Perfect seal every time.
