I am running out of time! How can I (cheaply!) improve this coop? PICS

Ahh i would LOVE that shed to use as a coop!! We are using an old Camper to make our new bigger coop out of! lol

It has a ton of potential!!

If you are seriously worried about the ceiling area, can you install a drop ceiling that is insulated? I dont know how tall the shed is but its a thought!

Oh and we are in Va, Roanoke!!

That was one of my considerations. I'll try the hardware cloth first to help with ventilation and if I find it too much to do I'll see if my dad can install a ceiling. Insulation is not a bad idea. I used to think our winters weren't too bad, but after last year, I'm not so sure anymore!! I'm sure you understand what I mean about that, haha. Being in Roanoke and all.

The encouragement I've been hearing here, and the practical advice, has rejuvenated me. I felt like I've been working on it for quite a while to have gotten so little done, but it seems like I'm not doing all that badly after all !!

I'm hoping I can get these chickens outside ASAP. I do, however, have smaller chickens who are not fully feathered out. I wanted to combine the two when I put them outside so they were both introduced to a new place together. I thought that would cut down on conflict. I don't think I can handle the big chickens in the kitchen that long though! The dust, the dust!! Not to mention, they don't smell like roses, heh.
