I am so frustrated with DH right now!

Well, what do you know? Guess who just called to apologize and inform me that he mixed the feed? (the second after I posted!)

I have no idea about allergies, but if it were me, I'd probably expect him to take some responsibility there. But just want you to know that my DH dosn't do anything with the animals either. He built the coop, but I do the feeding, cleaning, watering, daily care, pick-up everything involved in it is done by me, and it was his idea to get the chickens, and the dogs, and the fish tanks lol Just wanted you to know you were'nt alone there!

I think I've got a box of baby wipes around here somewhere... sounds like you need them a lot more than my 7&11 year olds.

Really, my health is my responsibility. Just because I can't drink Hawaiian Punch (red dye) doesn't mean I yell at anyone who does. If I see the punch at a party is red, I drink water instead. What I don't expect is for every person on the planet to bow and scrape and scurry to get me what I demand.

I'm with the others, obviously, I'd buy some pellets and freeze them in gallon bags, and store in the freezer. Then off chance that you do need them you have them. But if you don't need them then they aren't in any way going to bother Mr Cranky Pants. Plus, a full freezer uses less power too... BONUS!

Solved for the next three weeks!

You know, if I didn't have to get up in the dark and come home in the dark I would just mix the darn stuff myself and not make such an issue about it! I really do love my birdies and I honestly enjoy caring for them. Thanks for the ideas and support! Glad to know that I am not alone in my frustration. I won't take you up on those baby wipes just yet, PineappleMama!

I SOOOOO hope my dd12 gets to this point!! She is intolerant to MSG and mopes at church dinners and family functions when she can't eat what everyone else is eating...GAHHHH it drives me nuts!! I make her fresh homemade bread, her favorite deer jerky, her own BBQ sauce, own ranch dressing, own mayo, her own EVERYTHING....and STILL!! AND we take her things she CAN have EVERYWHERE What has helped you? Have you always been allergic?

She can either focus on what she can have and enjoy herself, or she can be a 'gloomy Gus' and miss out on the best things in life. It is her decision. You can only present her with options. You can not change her behavior. Maybe she would prefer to stay home. You could hire a sitter the first few times, and then she has to pay her own.
Wow. I am mean. I guess because I make sure that I do not deny my family things that I can not have...they still like me.

It must be tough for a 12 yo to deal with food issues when fitting in is so important. She can't eat everything at a party, but there are plenty of things that she can eat... especially since you bring her favorites. Have her think back to what dish made her feel like she was missing out and then the two of you can make a version of it for the next event.

I agree that attitude is everything! I'm sure she will come around and see how fortunate she is in a few years.
