I am so MAD !!!

well as many of you already know me and DH are being downsized by the company we worked for - the Amarillo Globe newspaper told us on Jan-1 that they are pulling out of this town on Jan-13 ( nice notice they gave us ) anyway we have been waiting for our check from last month to get here ( they are always a month behind ) the check for this month we will get next month.
this is our last full check from them - so we have been holding some bills that REALLY need to get paid - I just ran out of chicken/duck feed this morning and of course I need to get dog food -so that check is very much needed today. We called home office they told us it was put in the mail friday the 11 ok no problem- both me and DH have family in GA where the checks are being mailed from ( yea I know I work for a TX paper that pays us out of GA) anyway I got a letter from my sister in Elberton Ga post marked the 10 got here yesterday so we are thinking that the MUCH needed check will be here today--

Guess what I DID not get in the mail today AGAIN !! I called DH at work with a not so nice tone in my voice told him it did not come - so he calls the accounting dept. they tell him the check was mailed on the 15 ! OMG I am so mad.
I really hope DH's paycheck comes today or all of you that live in GA will be able to hear me yelling my dang fool head off

Why is that last check so dang hard to get when it is the one you need the most ???? un

I feel for you Julie. Last January, my husband and I went through the same thing: we were both downsized from the same company.

Im so sorry this is happening. Maybe the check will come today! Saturday...but, then again, can't get to the banks after noon. DANG....well...just keep the faith..it will come. Im praying the check comes early, so you have time to get to the bank!!

nope no reporter here just a lowley delivery person LOL but I loved that job - we had alot of elderly couples on the route and DH would get out and put the paper right on the porch so they would not have to go far to it. We even had an 89 year old gentlemen who lives alone and had fallen and broke 3 ribs he called to ask if DH could bring the paper to his door and set it down and this gentlemen would call a friend to bring it in the house - instead DH asked him to live the door unlocked and he would bring the paper in for him - this worked out great for the guy. I dont want to brag but we were good at our job LOL
we are doing another route for another out of town paper- right now it is only a temp thing but we are hoping it will become a regular job

Man I hope you are right about that check coming today ! thank god DH got his paycheck so we were at least able to grab a bag of scratch feed at wal*mart just to get the chickens by until TS opens today. I know it is not the best thing for them to eat but in a pinch that's what wal*mart had ( the girls are not complaining lol )

I know things will get better - its just this year started off a little rocky.

Hope you get your check soon! I understand the paper delivery route all too well me and hubby split his route every day here.not the easiest job in the world thats for sure ,with winter here wish you lived here we have 3 routes open now ( i live in NH) we love helping the elderly out too

where in NH do you live ? I lived there for awhile I was in the Portsmith/ exeter area.

I asked DH if he wanted to move he said he does not want to be a yankee LOL
