Today is day 8 of my batch which is my very first time of trying to hatch eggs. I have 15 Maran eggs in the bator that I bought on Ebay. I did a lot of research and looked at pics of good fertile eggs. I also read about the bad eggs that you need to remove from the bator. When I candled tonight I only saw 3 eggs with veins and a little bean moving around and some I wasnt sure on but there were some I was sure were bad eggs. The first one I cracked is the pic above. When I saw the embryo I became very sad

and I put the other eggs back into the bator. Now I am too scared to take any bad eggs out. Any recommendations??

Don't take anything out til day 14. If you have 'iffy' ones, just mark them and keep an eye on them. I just put a few in lockdown today and I have NO idea what's going on inside! They are also Marans but they are a lot darker than the rest of my Marans. Just be patient. I know it's hard to do, but give them time before you get nervous and toss them.

that happened to me too! it was a dark egg so i couldn't really tell, but when i cracked it open it had a 14 day old chick inside

! now i just wait till they are due to hatch and the ones that don't hatch i throw away.
