I am so SICK of being stood up by my customers!!!!!

God I am so sick of people who say they're coming on such-and-such day at whatever time to buy my birds and then never show up, and don't have the decency to call or email me and tell me they're not coming!!!!!! This is happening more and more and it is making me SICK!!! What is with people these days???? Anyone else frustrated by these idiots?

If it makes you feel any better, I always show up for my craigslist appointments...no matter what. I hear horror stories of people being stood up all the time with craigslisters...it is just plain RUDE!

I must have polite customers, they show or call/email in the very rare instance they cannot make it! That said, I sure feel for ya, such behavior tends to waste one's day.

My customers always show up. Maybe,,,,just maybe when the time comes to go to the appt. they are thinking ''do I really need this? Or just want it? I really don't have the $$$$$$" Then they feel awkward telling you that. Just a thought.

I ask for a credit card number for advance payment if they want birds held. haven't been stood up since I started this.

In my experience, craigslist is populated by quite a few flakes. (But good people, too, of course.)

Maybe have a policy that you don't hold birds for people? Maybe just have a set time --- 9 to 2 on Saturday, or whatever --- that you will be at home and selling and it is "first come, first served"? This might cut down on sales a little but would also cut down on your waiting for no-shows. Good luck.

I've been in sales for many years....I make them call to confirm. "All I say is...please call at such and such a time to confirm your appointment...otherwise I will be scheduling someone else in. ...I have a very tight schedule". This works quite well. Good luck!

I got one lady right now who calls says she'll be here on Mon then calls 3 weeks later to pick up the birds she wants and can't understand why some have been sold.
