Good luck with your Hova, I think you will like it. I just bought the Eco 20, used it once..now I'm selling it. I like the Hova's much better.
The Brinsea just doesn't hold the temp real well, have to keep tweeking it, and it's hard to do that because you have to open it in a certain place with a screw driver, so, I just ended up leaving it unscrewed until I got it where I wanted it. When it was time for lock down, which is now, the eggs wouldn't stop rolling around when ever the table was slightly moved..so, took the eggs out, put them in my hova. I have a pip this morning..so yes, they will develop in the Brinsea, but what a hassle..for me anyway. Look around what folks say their favorite bator is here on BYC. Oh, and I also didn't like the bars they have you set the eggs in. Eggs are different shapes, so you can't get them all to sit upright. I have a couple that have air sacs half way up the side because they couldn't sit up right. I was so excited to get this thing. Now, I would rather use my Hovas..more space for the babies in the Hovas too when it's hatch time. Sorry for the neg.

Like I said, I was hoping it would be great, I guess a lot of folks like them.

That incubator will get the job done.

Keep an eye on it, and be sure to keep tabs on the water level. The temp will go wonky when it dries up.

We have hatched a lot of chicks in that exact model.

I am at day 12 and all three eggs are looking good! I candled last night and can see lots of movement. My egg are brown and I didn't get to see the heartbeat. But boy do they moving like jumping beans when they are being candled. 6 more days until lock down!

Keep up the good work! Watch your temps and humidity and a 1602n will rarely disappoint. Keep us posted! I'm excited for you.

Well I think it is a bust. 2 of the 3 eggs are not growing and one of those looks like it has bacterial growth in it. I can see the black spots in it that don't move, the 2 that are not growing are also kinda slosh, They move around when you turn the egg. Egg 3 looks pretty solid and is taking up more than 1/2 the shell inside. But it still looks small compared to the other candling pics. No weeping or odor from the 2 that I think are bad. I am supposed to go into lock down tomorrow but am debating if I should. My temp has stayed at 99.5 except for the first night I put them in when it went to 103. I want to break them open and see at what stage they quit, but am worried #3 is still alive. (besides if I don't open #3, I need #1 &#2 to have something to balance the thermometer on LOL) Any thoughts?

look on your local craigslist and find fertile eggs from your faviorte breed and then hatch them! have fun!

So this means my temps have been to low. I was looking and looking for links on hatching but very few give an ACTUAL temperature. I even searched on here and didn't really find what I was looking for.

I bumped the temp up and I am going to wait an extra day before going into lock down to see if there is any measurable growth in the one egg I think is still viable. I will discard the 2 bad one then. Just got my thermometer/hygrometer and am calibrating the hygrometer as I write. Will put that in in the morning. If this last egg is not viable(which I highly doubt it is) I have already started collecting eggs for a second go. I have collected 4 so far, hopefully I will have at least 10 to start with on Tuesday.

Pics of the eggs or the bator set up? I only have my phone camera right now and it will not take good pics of them when candling. (I already tried it)
