How about we put the City we live in or at least closest to in our profile, or at least when someone asks you where you are, because they are interested in getting something you are selling!!!!!
I recently ask a member where they were located, they had some items for sale I was interested in, their public location simply said Tennessee.
Their response was East Tennessee, ok we are getting close, my next question was, where in east Tennessee, their answer was Jefferson county, I did not bother to ask where in Jefferson County.....
Why is it so Dang hard to say I am in Sweetwater, or Athens??????????

I think if we offer something for sale or to give away we should put our location in the body of the post. I don't mind saying under my pic I'm in Chaparral, NM, but some might not want it on display all the time where they live. Some areas are safer than others and some single women or those with young children might not want their exact location posted for the world to see.

Also if we get a response to an advertisement and someone asks where we are it only makes sense to PM them and tell them exactly where you are rather than making them attempt to be mind readers lol.

There are a lot of kids on here too. I know I make a big deal about not putting any identifying info online with my kids. I agree it can be a hassle though. I find it frusterating when people start threads asking region specific questions--do I need to heat my coop, is this enough/too much ventilation, what do you sell your eggs/birds for etc. and don't let you know their general location.

We do not require members to post their location. If our member wish to disclose their location, they may, but if not, that decision is to be respected.

A simple PM by an interested buyer would get the info you need to make an informed purchase.
