I bought eggs today......

My girls just started last week....one of my BR is 22 weeks...she is laying, as is my RIR at 22 weeks.
I am with you, pacing, and checking all day!

It will get there...its hard to wait.

I bought eggs too and then told my Ladies about it I have 3 White Leghorns that "look" ready! At least I will know that is them among my brown egg layers! I think maybe I'm too excited, is that possible. The ladies probably think "here comes the crazy lady again, what is she looking for

My BR girls were twenty weeks last week and 2 of the 3 layed their first eggs. The BO's I am still waiting on-I did see one of them squat for my older hen-LOL-that is the first squat I have seen and no egg songs so who knows-they go when they go!!!!!! When the BR's layed last week it was funny because I have a red sex link hen (she is 3 and lays everyday)that kept going in the coop and talking to them while they were in the nesting boxes and I guess encouraging them-she was very vocal about it all. We call her the mid-hen---LOL.

They look very close! We are buying yucky store eggs also. I have only one good layer right now. I get 6 beautiful eggs a week from my 24 week RIR. Good luck and I hope your girls start laying all at once!

My 3 BR just started laying last week at 21 weeks!! We have been getting the cutest little eggs everyday since. I am hoping that they get bigger soon....not that I am complaining!

I know how you feel. I was so forlorn the last few weeks before mine laid that I had convinced myself that they were just never going to lay. I refused to buy store bought eggs, but that wasn't really hard for us since we didn't really eat many eggs in the first place. Now that the girls are laying, I'm trying to fit eggs into our diet anywhere I can! Egg overload...the neighbors are happy.
