I call this the hydro chicken feeder

I took 2 hydroponic gardening systems and turned them into a feeder and waterer.....Took the chickens half a day to get used to the idea but they feed and drink from it regular now....the feeder holds 5lbs of feed and the waterer holds 3 gallons.....not bad for junk laying around and being put to use

That looks really good. Does it stop alot of waste? I took a plastic 5lb coffee can, cut out 3 part on the bottom so feed can come out, attached it to a plant saucer and put the whole thing in a heavy horse feeder bucket. They waste so much and when I pick up the horse feeder, there's load of worms. They're fat and about half inch or three quarters of an inch in diameter. How can I stop this. I have an open pen design and the feed bucket is on the ground. Any suggestion?
