I went into lockdown this morning . I have a LG still air the temperatures have been steady and the humidity has been around 45 % . I have put wet bath cloths in and the water wells are full , but the humidity is not going up that much . The hygrometers are the 12 dollar things from wallmart . I calibrated them both and it showed 67 % so I need to add 8% to my reading . but I am not getting over 50 % what should I do .

Thanks for you help in advance

some people use a sponge,Iuse maxi pads, and add hot water to it, put it near one of the holes on top so you can add water if you need to, you can use a straw to add more water, or a syringe.

I would leave it alone. 45% is not bad, and with a still-air model the humidity is probably higher than what the gauge reads since there is no air circulating it around. When I used an LG bator I couldn't ever get mine over 55%, then it wouldn't stay there for long. I had very good hatches

I use the same bator and meter as you with my hatches. I have to add a sponge and a SMALL cup of water..
Careful with the cup though! I had to go to a concert on my hatch day and when I got home a chick had fallen in and drown

bring the eggs here, it is too humid with 90% outside. thought I was going to die waiting at the bus stop

I'd leave it alone. I bet there is more humitity in there than the readings you're getting. Is there any condensation on the viewing window? if so, the humidity is more than high enough.
