Wow! Those are BIG!!!
When my girls first started laying they also popped out hu-normous eggs for a couple months. My family kept telling me there was something wrong with my chickens.
And my Grandma (supposed chicken expert) was sure they would be dead in a few weeks and "blow themselves out"
They are fine, healthy and working on they're second year of egg laying.
I'm Tygab's 'not nearly as good half' and I think these might be from some of the newer EE layers. See, we've got 12 poulets, 6 ee's and 6 black stars, and only a few of the EE's were laying, but lately we've been geeting more and more easter eggs. I assume one or two of their clock's are not quite right yet. It is after all the darkest time of the year, and they are new layers.
We'll photo the 'two egg' omlet tomorrow.
