Robin'sBrood :

Ebwy hugs I can relate and I completely understand. In fact, I wrote a very similar rant a while ago in another thread. I have found ONE maternity store that carries plus size clothes, but the selection is small and the clothes are very expensive. There is another store that has plus size clothes but you have to order them... no way am I going to do that, I HAVE to try clothes before buying them. I can't imagine the hassle of ordering and having to return the stuff that didn't fit or didn't fit right. So, I've been making do with very little. I have a few real maternity pieces that I'll wear out of the house but the other stuff is regular stuff I bought a couple of sizes larger, and I wear those pieces around here because I feel so frumpy in them. roll If I knew anything about clothes making I would start my very own plus size maternity line!

most of my clothes are a couple of sizes bigger than I was pre-pregnancy, so I'm managing with those at the moment - being obese a few years ago has paid off there, at least I have things I can wear for now! Mainly because I couldn't afford to replace them so I took the waists in etc and just wear baggy tops anyway. Now I'm letting the waists out again! I'm pretty much tied to internet shopping because I can't drive and my partner only has a motorbike (which I'm definitely not allowed on the back of at the moment) so I'm dependant on paying a fortune for a taxi to go anywhere or getting my partner's dad to drive me - which I don't want to ask for non-essential things when I get to go to the hospital or doctors at least twice a week, it's just unfair to ask him to take me shopping too. And of course, I'm still supposed to be resting, so I can't get a bus (not many come through here anyway), and the nearest town is 9 miles away - waaay too far to walk even if I wasn't resting!
Maybe instead of keeping up the search I'll just wear huge things when I need to... My mother sent me some of her tshirts etc but they aren't my taste! keep telling myself "it's only for a few months" and wondering if I'll be able to get her to send me trousers too (she's larger than me now)

my baby's not due until the end of July, so I'll be around until then. But I hope the more experienced ladies stick around too because I could do with their advice and wisdom.

I am due in July and I am working on baby #8. I don't post a lot because I am also a full time studentand active in the church. I do read all of your posts every night. Right now it seems to be Robin and Motherof 5bog that post a lot. I almost always agree with their posts. Soooooo when they leave I will still be here for you guys if I have advise that can help.

The biggest most important thing I advise to new moms is your birth experience is unique to you and that particular baby. I have almost eight and every single one was different. Don't listen to the bad stories and it is OK to second guess advise especially if that advise is unsolicited. I could tell you about a painful experience I had immediately after the birth of my first son instead I will say that having an advocate (DH SO mother etc) to speak for you at the hospital is very important. That person should be the one to ask all the questions you can not handle while in labor or shortly after. (like: can she have a few more blankets, how long will the baby be in the nursery, or when can she have the pain killers).

I really look forward to reading everyone's post at night as some leave I see that there are others to join us.

I have been really racking my brain to remember any must have baby item not already mentioned above I guess I'll think of it later.
