people are stupid..there are some people who are very militant about going natural during labor and all of that and its so annoying.

natural labour is all very well IF you can do it.
but honestly, there are pain killers available and if you need one then you're a bit daft if you don't get it!

I had my last one completely natural (no choice there, homebirth) but I think I'll be asking for an epidural as soon as I get to the hospital with this one!

there's an assumption that you're selfish and putting your vanity first if you have an elective section rather than vaginal birth. Some people are rather militant about it, with no regard for whether it's done for selfish reasons or medical. There's also some feeling among some people that if you try to have a vaginal birth but have an emergency section you failed. It's horrible. There aren't many people who think like that but the ones that do are really ...erm... expressive about it. Fortunately, if any of my friends or family think like that they've had enough sense not to say it to me.

The same goes for feeding the baby once it's born - if for some reason you can't breast feed the baby, you've failed the child again according to some people.

So much judgement for things that can't be helped.

extra irrelevent note - my fiance came with me to get my blood pressure read today. he pestered the nurse doing it until I got a sticker for doing well LMAO! just as though I was a small child who'd had an injection... I got one too. He's funny.
he also informed me that I do indeed waddle a little bit now.

yeah....I did one of those natural births..... I was on my side getting my epidural and the baby started crowning.....guess that is why i was in so much pain all of a sudden and needing a epidural. At least the stitching didn't hurt at the end.....LOL

did u see the picture of the baby girl posted in another thread!!!! Oh my she is so cute, i can't wait. I want a baby girl so bad I am afraid to find out what we are having until delivery. Once the baby is here you can't help but fall in love girl or boy....then it doesn't matter much.

i know the feeling...for years i wanted a sweet little girl and i finally gave up..then i got pregnant again and i about died when i found out it was a girl. i knew that this time i wouldnt get that lucky again, haha

Yep, that happened to me with my 2nd baby too. My first labor/delivery was 42 hours long so with my 2nd one the doctor assumed that I would have a long one too. Well, it wasn't (6.5 hours, total) and by the time I started begging for an epidural it was too late. At least I know I CAN handle natural if I have to.
