Lolipop, suck on a pen , pencil... Do anything to keep your mind off of it ... I want to quit but the DT's Horrify me... I went 6 hours with out one last week and thought my head would explode.... Try Meditation and Positive Affrimation,,,, " Wow why do I want a ciggarette I don' smoke, huh thats weird " My friend did it and it worked .. She is kinda nutty though

Chew some gum, eat sunfower seeds, just try to keep yourself as ocupied as possible for a while. I know it may be hard beacuse you probably can't get up much and move around since you had surgery. Best of luck. I know it's hard but YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!

Keep pressing on! If you can quit, by all means, do it! I smoked for over 20 yrs, this last past September I got fed up with it and quit. I used the patches, but I did it. I feel so much better now. I told DH just the other day this is the best spring I have had since I was a child, due to I can actually smell all the beautiful scents of spring. I have smelled things that I havent smelt since I was a child! The multiflora roses and the spring rains,.etc.,.. I feel like I am 12 yrs old again! Our garden is up on a hill above our home, I actually run up the hill with my two kids and still could breathe! My kids could not believe I had this much stamina! You may think that it is okay to smoke, but it isnt. It does way more damage than we all know. Do yourself a favor and your DH,..QUIT. Hang in there!

Every minute you dont smoke is another minute longer you will have freed yourself.

Every time you get a craving remember those minutes you have suffered to get you this far... and don't waste all that hard work and will power you have shown by giving in!!!!

My personal experience as an ex-smoker. Stay strong and my prayers go out to you.

Yep patch...stay strong and keep very very busy... the craving does pass..... eventually....................

Thanks guys. I've found some very old Jolly Ranchers and am working my way through the bag. I don't know why today has been the exceptionally hard one. I've never done this before without the patches, gum, or inhaler. I've yelled at my dogs, and son way more than I should but I'm feeling a little better now. It might be the xanax I took.. haha

Thanks guys. I have my post-op appt in a little while so that will at least help me get out of the house. The thing that set me off so bad? The fact that I can't put my own shoe on.

It's amazing what we take for granted sometimes.
