I can't find regular parakeet grit ANYWHERE!

My local pet store used to carry regular parakeet grit, but now they only carry the Hi-Calcium kind, and since my girls aren't laying yet, I don't want them to have too much calcium. I've been to 4 other pet stores and its the same story, they only havethe hi-Cal grit.

Does anyone have any ideas? I let them out in the yard for at least 30 minutes a day (several hours on the weekend) so I'm not sure how much supplemental grit they need, but I like to have a small dish available to them in their coop just in case...

I bought mine at Wal-Mart. If they have access to dirt already, and they're a few weeks old they probably don't need that much grit.

I get mine at Wal-Mart also.

I agree with jenichick, they should be okay.

Phew thanks! I do let them out at least once a day but wasn't sure how much they need. They had emptied out the little dish I put in the henhouse a while ago.
