I can't hug my 4 1/2 months old pekin anymore!

She gets like this now whenever I pet or even just touch her on the back...

I can't hug her anymore...
In fact, if you look at her backside when I pet her you'll even see her flexing her vent.

I stopped petting my ducks on their backs, i just fondle their necks and pet their sides.

It's like with parrots- if you pet them on their backs, they think you're being flirty. At this point she probably thinks you're her mate and are just kinda bad at it.

Our duck girls will eagerly eat food from our hands, but run for the hills if we dare _touch_ them!

Same happens with my chickens. They just lay flat on the ground, wings lifted once I pet them, except for one old hen who still allows me to cuddle her!

I struggle with this a lot having an indoor duck... I just put her down and walk away or if she lays flat I get loud and say "no!" and force her stand up. Between the being lifted up and the loud commotion, she gets the point that it ain't happening
