Ok, so I have been going back and forth trying to pick a breed. Next spring I want to get a breeding pair of a different kind of breed duck, right now I have, rouen, welsh harlequins, and khaki campbells. I kept going back and forth of these three different breeds. Buff, black sweedish, and I kinda want pekin. I cant pick! So next spring I thought "hey ill just get a pair of each!" And wich everone I like more, I will keep that breed and sell the rest! What do guys think? I was just gonna get my two buffs, and a pekin trio, but I was gonna sell the trio once they were 6 weeks old.

They would be more of a pet then breeders. How well do pekins lay?

If properly raised, Pekins can be a bit above average as a layer, I believe.

Wishing you luck in whatever you decide to do!

According to Metzer Farm's chart, Black Swedish and Buff both lay around 130-180 eggs a year.

Hhhmmm. I forgot about metzers chart oops. I will check that out quick.

My 3 pekin girls have been laying great...3 eggs a day consistently...once every three weeks they skip a day then I get these huge goose egg size double yolkers. They started laying at 18 weeks and have not slowed down a bit yet...

Hhhhhmmmmm..... Well I will still get a pair of each, and make my choice then. Im really thinking about the pekins though. Hhhhhmmmmm......
