I cant wait any longer, they're getting big fast!

I don't know anything about the Bielefelder breed. They sure are pretty pullets.
I've been brainstorming about the wires & Im thinking about thin cables/shiny wires with a bungie type hook on each end. Just stretch a few across the kennel. On the other hand, I see having the kennel within the electric poultry netting with the chicken tractor inside the kennel as being a hazard. It's not uncommon to see my chickens frantically running around the kennel looking for the opening to get to the coop. So if a hawk was chasing or they have been alerted by another chicken & need to take cover in or under the coop fast, they possibly won't make it. I'm thinking I'll leave the kennel behind when I have the tractor in an open field with the electric fencing.
I recently saw a YouTube showing a Chicken Caravan brand tractor. It has given me the idea to see if my husband can weld metal bars a few inches above the metal floor we have now. The chickens could then walk bar to bar & the poop can fall below & thru the metal floor that already exist. We could just pressure wash out occasionally. It just aggravates me that I have a floor in a chicken tractor. Gotta figure out something that works for me & the girls.

One more thing, I have read others talk about stringing wires or cables across the top of a run to prevent hawks. It's something I plan to research. If it works, I would prefer to do that instead of aviary netting. Seems like it would be less expensive & easier to untie/unlatch & move each time we move the run. We move ours once a week.

Unless you have a solid or hardware cloth roof climbing creatures will get into the run via the roof.

Here's what happened to a coop that had netting over the roof (granted it was next to a tree).

No advise, but all the pics look Great !
Love the Tractor mobile !!
Yes to the neting over the top to help with Hawks.
We have Hawks here and that was one of my 1st things I knew I needed.
That is why I sit out with them when in the front yard to watch for Hawks and LISTEN for the sound of no other birds chirping.

Interesting video. You could tell that their fence wasn't electric. I've seen raccoons scale my 6 ft kennel fence at night like its nothing. My chicken coop is also known as "Maximum Security Prison for Jail Birds". Coons keep knocking but they can't get in. That's why I have no interest in an automatic door. I like to go inside & make sure there is nothing waiting inside for me to open the all you can eat breakfast bar.. We have trapped several & im sure we will get more. They are our chicken's #1 public enemy.
It's the daytime foraging that I worry about. I would love to have my chickens in the pasture helping to spread cow manure & feasting on grasshoppers. I need to keep them safe from coyotes & dogs during the day. I think the electric poultry netting will do that. It's Hawks that @The Draft & myself are worried about with a chicken tractor set up.

I envision the coop on the trailer with the run attached wrapped with hard wire. Ill open and close the coop door to give them access to the run. The coop and the run will be inside of the electric fence.
If The netting was added over the entire fortress. The ladies would only have access when Im home. When Im home (outside) I let them out and completely free. So far they like hanging by my side?
