I cant wait to get my sussex flock

Hiya, Brad, and welcome to BYC! :frow

We tried spraying it with kerosene
Seriously, people in the UK do that? The smell for one thing must be horrible. Then there's the 🔥 risk.

My vote is with those saying here and what I hear overwhelmingly works is Permethrin powder. Dust every chicken, especially under their wings and their butts, then kick them out of the coop and do the coop and nest boxes, everywhere...walls, ceiling, etc. Repeat that in 10-14 days.

:frow Hi! Welcome to our flock and thanks for joining. Diatomaceous earth won't do it and is hard on the lungs and eyes (ask me how I know, lol!). Permethrin powder for the chickens. Put it in a sock and use it as a powder puff all over their little chicken bodies. Then, permethrin spray for the coop. As others have said, get every crack and seam between the boards, and repeat in ten days. Read the label carefully, I think it's toxic to cats. Best wishes to you and your speckled flock! 🐣🐓🐣
