I completely understand you Orpington lovers now!

I don't even have my chicks yet, but I ordered 8 assorted pullets, 2 of which were buff orpingtons added at the last minute. They were the breed I was least excited about. Then I started reading about them on here and now I wish I'd ordered all orps!

I just love their little pants.

My Stepfather informed me today that my DS has shut the bator off more than the one time I caught it and turned it back on

I had to throw out 11 eggs today and I didn't even get a chance to finish candling them

I had at least 5 that were still kicking

But I worry now about their ability to form and hatch properly..... and I don't think any of my Orps made it through

I'm so depressed over the whole thing..... I wish I knew why he was so drawn to things that have nothing to do with him and pushing power buttons

I thought they would be safe at the new house because we're hardly there...... but he manages to get into them even if we're only there for 10 mins

DH even feels bad.... that's saying something as he was wondering what I was going to do with all the chicks

I guess I'll just have to try again.... now more than ever I want some of these! Those Buff Orp chicks I have aren;t even scared of my toddler... and he scares ME sometimes!

I love my two buff orpingtons! They are definitely the friendliest chickens of my bunch. And both have recently hatched babies for me. That makes them favorites in my book.

I had thought crossing my EE with my BO roo would make the babies more docile, but they are fairly flighty, even at 1 week of age. They are just as flighty as my straight EE. The BR and NHR I bought from the feed store are actually a bit more friendly. What gives?
