I did a test hatch for a friend and she sent me welsh harlequin, pekin and silkie eggs. I set them all at the same time so the ducks aren't ready. However, I have tried and tried and tried to hatch silkies and they always 100% die in the shell at lockdown. I am happy to report that I have three splash silkies peeping their fool heads off in the bator tonight.

That's GREAT!!!

I have 12 WH eggs in my bator, 12 Khaki Campbell, and an assortment of golden layers, mallards, and one cool looking little green egg. Sadly, i'm not having very good candle results after 7 days.. and of course USPS decided to kick around my box a bit and broke 5 eggs, plus the 4 that were cracked that I found tonight.

Fixen to set a bunch of chicken eggs SWL, BA, and BO next week.

silkies!!!! I managed to get a few silkie crosses to hatch out just fine on my first try, I wonder if purebreds are more difficult?
