I hear some noise out in the chicken yard and went out to see. 2 of the older chicks had jumped thier fence. Not hard for them now. The newly discovered EE roo, 7.5 weeks, was chasing my SLW pullet, 9.5 weeks old. He was trying to mount her and everything. She was running but he kept up. I now know what has been happening to her feathers on her back.

Has anyone had this happen so young.

thanks.

I guess he "thinks" he is old enough!

My duck (drake) who is only 3 1/2 months old has been trying to mount my female ducks. Practice makes perfect..

My poor drake has been mating her on her side, head, etc.. He has no clue and it is too funny to watch! My hubby actually felt bad for him. Maybe a pep - talk is needed!
