I could use some BYC support please

Can you ask for another appeal. If you were inpatient then I would consider thing to be severe enough that they should pay it. You could also call your local TV station and see if their consumer advocate could be able to help you. It is amazing how fast an insurance company will pay if the media is involved.

This. Insurance companies always deny mental health coverage (insidious) because they know you are often not in the right frame of mind to fight for yourself. Hello?! You were in need of mental health assistance of course you are vulnerable and emotionally exhausted. Come here for support, we'll cheer you on and try to advocate for yourself. (VEEEERRY hard to do when you are not in the bet space.)

I used to work for an insurance company and yep, it was not uncommon for us to deny claims because "we don't think they need it". After I was terminated from there, it gave me better perpective of things on the other side of the fence and learned to be savvy and nasty when they get up in arms about my medical claims such as "How can you HAVE the right to deny my claims? Are you MY doctor? Have YOU checked me out that you are three states away from me? Have YOU know of my allergies that one medication that YOU want me to be on will NOT or DOES NOT work?" Oh, it would get the ball rolling!

Oh the countless complaints from our members was overwhelming and they have that right to be upset with us (as the company) knowing that they DO need these services. We as claims payers are at the mercy at the company's policies and rules and we feel so sorry for them but our hands were tied to deny those types of claims. Do we have a doctor on board? No, all we had was the RN on staff and she reviews all the complaints and if it requires a higher up in medical like heart surgery or psychological services as inpatient and drugs, she would submit those complaints and appeals to the doctors elsewhere out of state that never seen those patients.

Bottom dollar, the company don't really want to pay for these services because of the profit margin. I loved my job but the head honcho and some of the staff was pretty bad. Karma came back and bit the head honcho LOL for letting me go.

Fight back and appeal, again and again. Hugs to you!

I hope things start turning around for you. I would fight the insurance company. I understand about the mortgage company due to DH not getting his unemployment for 3 months due to rule change

Just hang in there and remember this to shall pass. I have a hidden spot of chocolate and I grab a cup of coffee and some of my stash grab a magazine and go out to my back yard let my chickens out to free range drink my coffee and eat chocolate and watch my chickens it seems to help so much with stress.

Talked with the insurance company today, she is "doing research" and will call me back tomorrow. I just said, I wasn't in the hospital for the fun of it, how crazy do I need to be to make you happy?
