I had a batch of eggs due to hatch 2 days ago and got nothing! So I candled them and could see a chick but when moved the egg I could see the snot inside of the egg moving with the motion. I have never seen this before so I figured the chick was dead.
I cracked the shell to see if I was right but when I did the white that formed a rubbery coating around the baby looked healthy and I could see the chick. I do not think it is moving, but the egg did not stink when I cracked it.
Is the chick dead or alive?
I put a paper towel over the section where I removed the shell so it would not dry out and stuck it back in the bator.
Thanks to all you experts......you guys rock!
