Ok.. so ..
During the day I keep Jive Trukey outside with the guineas to get sun and fresh air. He sunbathes, snoozes in the sun and hones his fly catching skills.
At night I bring him in and put him back in his crate with a heatlamp on low since he is not fully featered out yet.
well now.. he sqawks when i put him in his crate at nite.. he screams bloody murder.Understandable.. he misses his buddys.
I started to pick him up and put him on my belly craddeling him with my one hand and he goes right to sleep. He sleeps fine until i put him back into his crate and it starts again.. lol.
He is like a baby. I wanting him to get used to people and be friendly but jeesh.. I am past my baby years and I really cant sit and be his buddy every night.
It wouldnt be so bad but he is so freaking cute and pitiful. Plus he didnt have the best of starts and I would hate to lose him to stress or whatnot.
As soon as I pick him up he plops down into my hand and goes to sleep. He isnt very active to begin with ( not sure if thats a turkey trait ) He is eating fine ( gamestarter 28%) polyvisol in water every second day , drinks fine and preens himself. And he is growing.
he is just sooo spoiled .. lol
I hate hearing him squaking like that and screaming half the night but he cant be outside yet .
Husband giggles at me cause I go gaga over that little dude.
Funny how a little ugly thing can wiggle itself into your heart
And i am not ashamed to admit it.. I spoiled the turkey.
