With my kids when I process the birds and turkeys I let them play with the feet. I make sure to have them clean and leav a piece of long tendon so that they can grab and pull on it to open and close the feet. They get the biggest kick of coming up behind dad and me doing that with the chicken feet. You should have seen them doing it with the Turkey feet. I processed out a BBB Broad Breasted Bronze hen and she was not far from beginning to lay last week and she dressed out at 30lbs. I sold her for 1.33 a lb I know I could have gotten much more for her though and I am kicking my self in the butt as well for that. My son loved seeing the egg yolks in the overys he thought that was verry neat as well as the heart and gizzard and stomach. He also helped pluck the turkey. He will be 7 on the 3rd of Dec and he has gotten used to eating things we raise. Like Lamb and chicken and turkeys. If we had more room I would have pigs and beef as well but we dont. I just hatched out 24 Cobb X broiler chicks and a few of them will be processed for cornish game hens at 6 weeks and the rest will be roasters and broilers and are pre sold for 3.00 a lb for orgainc raised chicken.
