Congrats on your first chick.

I remember well at the begining of this year hatching my first chicks. I was really stressed, peering in the incubator all the time, it was VERY exciting!!!
I left mine in 24 hours but was worried too that they were thrashing about so much.
Fingers crossed that the rest of them hatch, I had 8 Marans in there and none of them hatched, 6 aracuana and 4 hatched, 6 silkie and 1 hatched and 3 ducks that all hatched!
The Marans and the silkies were sent away for so I got a better hatch rate with 'home grown' eggs!

Well now my first chick had turned into 3 with another one pipping! I haven't left the house in 2 days, I'm having so much fun!

Final count 5 hatched. Out of 10 to start, 4 were infertile and 1 had a 3/4 developed dead chick inside. I'm happy with that!

Congrats! I have 23 lockdown is Wednesday. Candled last night all are still moving and looking good.

5 out of 6 is pretty good.

Chicken math does not count the infertile eggs. Right?
