The only ones we've ever changed are the rescues that came into the shelter with no name, and were given one there, just to identify them. I figure that wasn't really that cat's "real" name, anyway. Yes, she does look like a Cookie, it's a decent name for a Siamese, and she has had only one owner for 5 years, so I'm sure she is used to the name.
And I still have to wait a whole week to get her!!!
I had to laugh at the comment about even thinking about getting another cat makes one show up.
I had been wanting a kitten for awhile, but knew we didn't really NEED another cat. I told my husband that if a kitten just showed up or fell into our lap somehow I would keep it; but I told him I would not go actively look for a kitten.
Less than two weeks later, our neighbors found a 5-6 week old kitten, it was covered with fleas and almost dead from dehydration. When I first saw him, I thought he was going to die. He was tiny, lethargic, and very unwell. They kept him two days, and then he came to our house. His name is Neo, he is very active, and sleeps by my feet at night.
Yep, I wished for a kitten, and one just showed up.
Awww! She looks just like my kitty, Miso! I just love Siamese, and especially chocolate points
She was a rescue and I had to change her name... It was Sabrina before which I think might be the most ridiculous cat name ever. I guess Miso is a little silly too but it fits her much better!
Mine don't actually sleep on me....mine sleep on either side of me on top of the covers. That way they can pin me in, keep me from moving and they remain comfortable all night long. I go along with this because it keeps dh from stealing the blankets. But the cats aren't spoiled, nope, not a bit.
As soon as the weather gets warm, they desert us. We are only good for kitty comfort and making sure the food gets in bowls.
A few years ago my DH and I brought a stray to the shelter. We caught her in a live trap. We talked about it for a couple of days and decided we would go back and see if she was available. She looked just like one of my males.
When we got there the poor baby was still in solitary
She had eaten porcupine quills.
But, of course, we managed to bring home two more to make up for it
You may not need another one, but there is always another one (or two) who need you.
