Greetings

My chickens are not ready to go into the coop yet, but when they do there is one problem. My entire backyard is concrete. Here is what I thought I could do.

-I could set up the trailer as a play area
-I have other big gardening boxes that I could also set up as a play area, I can add grass and such to them (They are not too big).

There will only be proximately 4 chickens?

Any thoughts?, thank you for your time.

I would cover the top of the concrete with a thick layer of hay or straw. It is absorbent, and will keep the chicken's feet cooler than on just concrete, and you can remove it periodically.

I would watch carefully, as this may not work, many types of livestock get sore footed on concrete.

Some how, you will need to add something for a dust bath....... chickens need to dust-bathe daily for grooming.
