I don't know anything about chickens

I live in a condo and there's an old rooster who always roots in a tree by the sidewalk. He flies up on top of a fence then into the tree. He usually goes up about 7pm. Tonight while walking my dog at 1130pm, he was standing in the street. Then he tried to get atop the fence and didnt make it the first time. He did the second but just stayed on the fence for almost 30 mins. I finally had to give up watching him. Does anyone know of tree roosting chickens acting like this? I may reach out to a local chicken society we have via FB as well. Maybe he is just getting too old.

I would put out water and some chicken feed for him- someone probably dumped him. Maybe a shelter or rescue group would take him in.

If you haven't already done so, reach out to your local chicken society. They may be able to find a home for him where he'll be safe and cared for. He's going to be easy pickings for a predator if left on his own.
