I set these eggs over 48 hours ago and I just tried to candle them to get an idea of if any are progressing. This is my first attempt of hatching eggs so I have no experience beside looking at photos online of candled eggs. Can any of you see anything in these, that I cant? One eggs shell is so thick that even with the highest power flashlight that my cop husband uses I cant see anything. 3 of them I am pretty sure had detached air sacs and I have been taking care of them like one of the forms suggested on here. The other 3 looked good the first day but doesn't look like anything has changed since. Thank you.

Egg # 3 possible detached air sac.

Egg # 4 possible detached air sac

Egg #7 possible detached air sac

Egg #2

Egg # 5

Egg # 6

Wouldn't longer than 2 days be a better time to candle...like a week, maybe 5 days?

X2 on the above. I would candle at day 7. You should be able to see more then. Eggs can be deceptive and look like they are showing no signs of development only for people to remove them and crack them open to find they are good healthy eggs. Always best to wait that bit longer to double check rather than toss any good eggs. Even after day 7 any eggs I'm unsure of I leave in till day 14 just to be sure.

Good luck with your incubation :thumbsup
