I joined 3 years ago, and started writing a new member topic, which I think my browser lost. I was dealing with a sick bird at the time, and forgot about this, so I'm late posting here.
My parents have had chickens as long as I can remember. Flock size is usually under 10, currently 8, including pullets. (5 breeds) There's room for a dozen or so in the coop and run. I am trying to build a chicken tractor as well. I used to help my mom take care of them when I was little, but don't really remember how she did everything. I took over looking after them when she got really sick a few years ago. (She's doing better now, taking care of new pullets!) My favorite aspect of raising chickens is seeing how intelligent and intuitive they are. The eggs are also good. ;-) I program computers, and am always looking for bugs, like my feathered friends. Thanks to this site, certain members in particular, I have the ability to give some first aid, and even to tube birds, which has helped several through issues. I appreciate that.
