I dont understand ducks...

My ducks sleep during the day and play play play at night. They are always taking catnaps during the day. Then at night you hear them splashing and playing in the pond. One night I thought something had happened to our male Ebony because Cocoa our female was quacking like crazy. I walked outside and the crickets were crazy loud and she was quacking at them nothing was wrong.

Oh my goodness look at your picture with your sleepy duck with its feets in the air. And I thought my ducks were nutballs looooool. That's my favourite picture so far. It even just beats that one that was posted a while back with the ducklings in socks.
You got yourself a very, very cute little duck.
We lock ours up at night but they'd be out splashin if they could. They also quack like mad when they want to get up and play in the morning. Little pests.

Okay, so I don't know if this duck was doing this intentionally (it had never occurred to me that this could be intentional) but here is a pic:

he seemed to have a little trouble righting himself from this position...

Oh how FUNNY!! To me he looks like he's thinking "So . . . ? Whatcha looking at?"
Thanks for posting that One Acre Wonder Farm!
We do get occasional summer days above 100 degrees here, but the humidity is low so ducks can probably deal with it better.
I guess with a high humidity and temperature the inside of those down coats could get critically hot!!
